Passport Renewal/Modification Process:
Why?
passports comes with 10 years validity so you have to renew it when you are in the last year of expiry. Also when you need to modify details like adress, spouse name etc... in your current passport then also you need to apply for new passport.
How?
You have to fill your personal details in m Passport seva mobile application or through online & then you have to pay the amount rs 1500 for normal or rs 3500 for tatkal (1500rs in online mode and 2000rs in person on the appointment date). After payment you have to schedule the appointment.
What is needed?
You have to download Annexure E and fill it first and carry it with you. Along with that you need your original old passport with 2 self attested photocopies and your aadhar card. If your address is different in your current passport and the applied passport then you have to provide one more address proof (Like Gas card and bill, Water Bill, Electricity bill, Reputed organization Bonafide letter in letter pad, Nationalised bank passbook etc...)
Appointment Day:
Be there in time and TCS is maintaining the passport process in India so they are very professional. Entire process will complete in less than 30 minutes. Once passport is approved tatkal passport will reach very next day and normal passport will reach you in 3-5 days & if you are lucky you might get next day itself.
